You may be wondering about the recent volcanic activity in Ecuador. Besides the weather, there has been little impact felt here in Quito. Just one of the many active volcanoes in Ecuador, Tungurahua, is situated about 80 miles south of the capital city. News agencies can provide accurate and up-to-date information, (See photos from the newspaper El Universo) but according to what I have read, about three villages were wiped out in the last eruption and lives were lost as well. The word is that the big eruption is yet to come.
