Discipleship Centers

In May, a lot of exciting things happened in Global University discipleship centers in the coastal region of Ecuador. At Centro Cristiano de Machala, pastored by AGWM missionaries Doug and Carol Baldwin (pictured in photo on second row left side), students at both the Christian Life and Christian Service level advanced in their studies, receiving certificates for their successfully completed courses. What a thrill to partner with the Baldwins and with you to help raise of leaders for the church in Ecuador!

May wrapped up with a visit to Centro Evangelístico in Santo Domingo de los Colorados. Pastor Roberto Ríos leads a discipleship study center that is about one year old. Santo Domingo is a mere three hour drive from Quito over the Andes to the coastal region, but with an abyss on one side of the curvy highway and precious few stretches of guardrail providing even the slightest illusion of a safety net.

Still, Johanna, my co-laborer in ministry, and I arrived safe and sound in my Speed the Light (STL) Jeep, enjoying a wonderful time of fellowship with Pastor Ríos and his wife, María Luisa, before heading over for a Friday night meeting of the members of the discipleship group.
After encouraging and exhorting them on the vital importance of studying the Word of God and preparing oneself for service, several of those present who are studying the Christian Life books, shared how the study has encouraged and enriched them. It was enormously humbling to hear them express their gratitude for the materials, bless the ministry and pray it would continue to flourish and enable them to further their own studies.

Thank you for enabling this ministry to impact lives and extend the kingdom of God throughout Ecuador!
